The nomination period for the Representative Council elections has been extended until 12 October 2026!

The Student Union HUMAKO is extending the nomination period for the Representative Council elections from 8 October 2026 to 12 October 2026 at 12:00!

During the original nomination period, fewer candidates registered than there are full representative seats in the Representative Council. In this situation, HUMAKO’s election regulations allow the nomination period to be extended by three working days.

Who can run as a candidate?

All members of the Student Union who have paid their membership fee by 7 October 2026 at 15:00 are eligible to run as candidates.

Candidates may form electoral alliances consisting of 1–15 candidates. Each alliance must appoint a representative, who may also be someone outside the electoral alliance. The representative of the alliance fills in the electoral alliance registration form, and each candidate fills in the candidate form.

Electoral alliances may form electoral coalitions consisting of a maximum of 30 candidates. Each coalition must appoint a representative, who is responsible for completing the electoral coalition registration form.

The registration forms for electoral alliances and electoral coalitions can be found on the Student Union’s website.

All election documents must be submitted as email attachments to vaalit(a)humako.net by 12:00 on 12 October 2026.

Why should you run?

The Representative Council is the Student Union’s highest decision-making body. Among other things, it approves the Student Union’s budget, elects the Board, and provides direction for the Board in developing the Student Union’s activities.

As a member of the Representative Council, you can also bring ideas for developing the university and the Student Union to the decision-making table and act as a voice for the wishes and concerns of your fellow students.

Serving on the Representative Council can also provide hours that can be used towards the accreditation of the Working as a Student Activist course.
