Miia Korhonen appointed as substitute Student Affairs Specialist

Miia Korhonen started as the substitute Student Affairs Specialist at the Student Union HUMAKO on Monday, 28 September. Miia is moving into the position from her role as Vice Chair of the HUMAKO Board. She has gained previous experience in the operational activities of student unions through HUMAKO’s local activities and Board, as well as through the Board of the Student Union JAMKO. Her responsibilities include supporting and developing HUMAKO’s local activities, delivering and developing student union services, and supporting communications.

“It is a joy and an honour to be able to do work that is close to my heart, contributing to building and developing the student community, now from the perspective of an employee. I am really looking forward to what the rest of the autumn will bring, above all the opportunity to meet students and other stakeholders,” Miia says.

“It’s fantastic to have Miia join the office team! I’m really looking forward to working even more closely with her as she moves from a board member to an employee role. Miia has extensive experience of our student union’s activities, as well as many new ideas for developing our operations, which she can now put into practice in her role as an employee,” Executive Director Jere comments.
