The application period for candidates for the Representative Council has been extended until 10.10.2025!

The Student Union HUMAKO continues the candidacy period for the Representative Council until October 10th, 2025! You can still nominate yourself as a candidate in the Representative Council until Friday October 10th 2025 at 23:59. The Student Union HUMAKO of Humak University of Applied Sciences will hold its Representative Council elections for the year 2026 from 29.10. to 5.11.2025. .

The candidacy period for the HUMAKO Representative Council elections opened on 16.9.2025 and continues until 10.10.2025 at 23:59.

The elections will determine the members of the Representative Council for the year 2026.

The Representative Council consists of 25 members of the Student Union: 15 regular members and 10 deputy members.

Voting will take place electronically between 29.10.2025 from 09:00 am to 5.11.2025 until 15:00 pm.

The official decision-making and meeting language of the Student Union is Finnish.

Who can be a candidate?

All members of the Student Union who have paid their membership fee no later than October 6, 2025, are eligible to be candidates.

Candidates may form electoral alliances consisting of 1–15 candidates. Each alliance must appoint a representative, who may also be a person outside the alliance. The alliance representative must complete the electoral alliance registration form and each candidate must complete the candidate form.

Electoral alliances may form electoral rings with a maximum of 30 candidates in total. Each ring must appoint a representative, who must complete the electoral ring registration form.

All election documents must be submitted by email to vaalit(a)humako.net no later than October 10th 2025, at 23:59.

Why apply?

The Representative Council is the highest decision-making body of the Student Union. It approves the Student Union’s budget, elects the Board, and acts as a strategic guide for the Union’s activities.

As a member of the Representative Council you can bring development ideas related to both the university and the Student Union to the decision-making table and act as a voice for your fellow students.

Participation in the Council’s work can also be credited toward the “Student Activism” study module.

Who can vote?

All members of the Student Union who have paid their membership fee by October 20th 2025 at 15:00 pm have the right to vote.

You can confirm your voting eligibility by contacting HUMAKO’s Executive Director.

Requests for corrections to the voter register must be submitted in writing to the Central Election Committee at vaalit(a)humako.net. The submission period will be announced in connection with the elections, if applicable.
