Student Union HUMAKO presents Senja Suntola as their candidate to be a board member for SAMOK!

Student Union HUMAKO proudly presents Senja Suntola, chair of HUMAKO’s board, as their candidate to be a board member for the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK for the year 2026.
Senja is a second-year Community Educator student (Work community developer) from the Helsinki campus. As the Chairperson of the Board Senja has been responsible for leading, developing and planning operations. Additionally, she has led the advocacy team and serves as a student representative in the Executive Board of the Finnish School of Arts and Humanities Ltd. (Humakin hallitus) and in the Degree Programmes Team (Tutkintokoulutuksen ryhmä). Senja began her journey at HUMAKO a year ago in the advocacy team and has since demonstrated her skills as both an organizational actor and a leader.
“A heartfelt thank you to my beloved student union HUMAKO for the trust you’ve placed in me. I am grateful to have been able to work in such a safe and supportive environment, doing important work for students. My passion for advocating for students’ rights is strong, which is why SAMOK calls for me. Students are facing challenging times and now more than ever we need strong voices to stand up for their rights,” Senja comments.

The board of SAMOK for 2026 will be elected at the SAMOK General Assembly, which will be held on October 30th – October 31st in Seinäjoki.
