ELECTION NOTICE 2026 – HUMAKO´s Representative Council Elections!
The student union HUMAKO of Humak University of Applied Sciences is organizing the Representative Council elections for the year 2026 between October 29 – November 6, 2025.
The nomination period for the HUMAKO Representative Council elections has opened on 16th of September 2025, and will remain open until 7th of October 2025, at 23:59.
The election will determine the Representative Council for the year 2026.
The Representative Council consists of 25 members of the student union, 15 regular members and 10 supplementary members.
The election will be conducted electronically from 29th of October 2025 at 9:00 am to 5th of November 2025 at 15:00 pm.
The official decision-making and meeting language of the student union is Finnish.
Who can run as a candidate?
All members of the student union, who have paid their membership fee by October 6, 2025 are eligible to run as candidates.
Candidates may form electoral alliances consisting of 1–15 candidates. Each alliance must appoint a representative, who may also be someone outside the alliance. The alliance representative is responsible for submitting the electoral alliance registration form, and each candidatemust complete a candidate form.
Electoral alliances can further form electoral rings, which may include up to 30 candidates.
Each ring must also appoint a representative, who will submit the electoral ring registration form.
All election documents must be submitted by email as attachments to [email protected] by 7th of October 2025 at 23:59.
Why apply?
The Representative Council is the highest decision-making body of the student union. It approves the student union’s budget, elects the Board and sets the direction for the student union’s activities. As a member of the Representative Council you can bring forward development ideas related to both the university and the student union and act as a voice for your fellow students. Participation can also contribute hours towards the Student Activity and Engagement (Opiskelija-aktiivina toimiminen) study module.
Who can vote?
All members of the student union who have paid their membership fee by 20th of October 2025 at 15:00 pm are eligible to vote. You can verify your eligibility by contacting the Executive Director of HUMAKO.
Requests for corrections to the electoral register must be submitted in writing to the Central Election Committee at vaalit(a)humako.net. The deadline for these requests will be announced alongside the elections.
The application forms and all materials needed for the election are available on the student union’s website www.humako.net/edustajisto.
