Humanistisen ammattikorkeakoulun opiskelijakunta HUMAKO on irtisanonut sopimuksensa Oy Frank Students Ab:n kanssa päättymään 31.12.2018. Opiskelijakunnan edustajisto päätti asiasta kokouksessaan 17.10.2018.
Tämä tarkoittaa sitä, että Frank App toimii vuoden 2018 loppuun saakka opiskelijakunnan jäsentunnisteena, mutta ei ole sitä enää tämän jälkeen. Frankin kanssa tullaan kuitenkin neuvottelemaan mahdollisesta siirtymäajasta, jonka aikana opiskelijakunnan jäsenet voisivat käyttää Frank Appia halutessaan.
Irtisanomiseen vaikuttaneita ja päätöstä tukeneita syitä ovat olleet muun muassa se, ettei yhteistyö ole palvellut jäsenistöämme halutulla tavalla, Frank Appin toimivuudessa on ollut toistuvasti häiriöitä ja sovellus on muuttunut maksulliseksi.
HUMAKO kehittää syksyn kuluessa uuden jäsentunnisteen yhdessä opiskelijakuntien ASK, Helga, Laureamko, O’Diako ja TUO kanssa. Uusi jäsentunniste on Slice-mobiiliapplikaatio, jonka tuottaa FeedCowboy Oy. Tunniste otetaan käyttöön 1.1.2019. Käyttöönotosta tiedotetaan tarkemmin lähitulevaisuudessa.
“On enemmän kuin upeaa laajentaa Slicen toiminta nyt myös pääkaupunkiseudulle ja aloittaa tämä merkittävä yhteistyö vuoden alusta. Slice - tiimiläiset ovat asiasta innoissaan ja odottavat pääsyä sorvin ääreen. Haluamme tarjota aitoa hyötyä ja toimia erityisesti opiskelijan asialla,” kommentoi Slice-tiimi.
Uusi tunniste avaa mahdollisuuksia uudenlaiseen palvelutarjontaan sekä monipuolisiin opiskelijaetuihin. Kovan kilpailuttamisen ja harkinnan jälkeen ASK, Helga, HUMAKO, Laureamko, O’Diako ja TUO päätyivät valitsemaan FeedCowboy Oy:n digitaalisen opiskelijakortin tarjoajaksi.
Tärkeänä syynä uuden applikaation valintaan oli mahdollisuus tarjota suuri valikoima paikallisia opiskelijaetuja lähellä kampuksia ja applikaation käyttäjäystävällisyys. Muutos on osa laajempaa opiskelijakunnan digitaalisen palveluväylän kehitystyötä, jolla pystytään vastaamaan jäsentemme tarpeisiin entistäkin paremmin.
Tammikuusta 2019 lähtien fyysisiä opiskelijakortteja ei ole mahdollista tilata, vaan opiskelijakunnan jäsentunniste on puhtaasti digitaalinen. Kuitenkin jo tilattuihin ja käytössä oleviin fyysisiin kortteihin myönnetään tarroja jatkossakin.

New Digital Student Card
Student Union HUMAKO has discontinued its agreement with Oy Frank Students Ab to end 31.12.2018. The representatives of the student municipality made a decision on the matter at its meeting on 17.10.2018.
This means that Frank App will serve as the member identifier of the student union until the end of the year 2018 but is not it after this any more. However a possible transition period during which the members of the student union could use Frank App will be discussed with Frank.
The reasons which affected a dismissal and have supported the decision have been among others the fact that the cooperation has not served our membership in the desired way, there has beendisturbances repeatedly in functionality of Frank App and the app has become subject to charge for students.
HUMAKO will develop a new member identifier during the autumn together with ASK, Helga, Laureamko, O’Diako and TUO. The new member identifier is a Slice mobile application which the FeedCowboy Oy produces. The identifier is brought into use on 1.1.2019. More information about the introduction will be provided in the near future.
“It is more than splendid that Slice now extends to the metropolitan area and to begin this significant cooperation in the beginning of the year. Slice team is enthusiastic can’t wait to start working on this. We want to offer a genuine advantage and especially work for students,” Slice team comments.
The new identifier opens opportunities for new services and for versatile student benefits. After hard consideration on a digital student card ASK, Helga, HUMAKO, Laureamko, O’Diako and TUO ended up choosing FeedCowboy Oy as a partner.
As the important reason for the choice of the new application was possibility to offer a big selection of local student benefits near the campuses and user friendliness of the app. The change is a part of the wider development work of the digital service channel of the student unions with which we are able to respond to our members' needs better than before.
Since January 2019 it is not possible to order physical student cards but the member identifier of the student municipality is purely digital. However, stickers will be admitted to physical cards in already ordered and use also in the future.
